Zoom, 2006, Tim Allen, Chevy Chase
Zoom (also known with its subtitle Academy for Superheroes) is a 2006 film released on August 11, 2006. It is based upon the novel Zoom's Academy by Jason Lethcoe. Directed by Peter Hewitt, the film stars Tim Allen, Kate Mara, Spencer Breslin, Michael Cassidy, Kevin Zegers, Courteney Cox Arquette, Chevy Chase and Ryan Newman. The film is rated PG by the MPAA for brief rude humor, language, and intense action.

The film's release was held up due to a lawsuit filed by Fox and Marvel Comics. Zoom was initially intended to premiere two weeks before X-Men: The Last Stand but it was alleged that the script for Zoom was too similar to the X-Men film franchise and would 'confuse' viewers.

This film ended up being released only a year after another movie, Sky High, which had basically the same plot and budget but far superior reviews and higher grosses. The movie was widely panned by critics, causing it to receive a 2% fresh rating on the Rotten Tomatoes website. Zoom has also performed poorly at the box office, earning only a total of $12 million in North America.

Goofs
In the scene where Jack attempts to talk to Connor, and also when Jack recovers his powers and saves Cindy, a microphone boom briefly appears at the top of the screen.
In the scene where the team and staff are playing baseball, if you look closely, you can see Mr. Pibb, a robot that was Zoom's friend when he was at the academy, and that they're playing in the hangar that is holding the flying saucer. However, later in the movie Zoom sees Mr. Pibb and acts like he hadn't seen him before and introduces him to the team. He then takes the team to the hangar with the flying saucer where they had been playing baseball in earlier and they act as if they had never seen it before.
Later the team takes the flying saucer out for a spin the first time and stop for food at a Wendy's. After Tucker orders 6 Frosties for himself, they go to collect their order. The view of the counter with the food from the flying saucer's camera (the bluish-green tinged view) shows only 4 Frosties on the tray, with no other drinks. Immediately after, the 'normal' camera shows 2 more glasses behind the tray that weren't present earlier.Wikipedia
